About the Course If you want to study or work in science, get practical experience and knowledge of working in a laboratory then the course is perfect for you!

You should have a positive attitude, an enquiring mind and good time management skills to be able to work to coursework targets and deadlines. You will develop scientific practical techniques and learn about working in the science industry. You can also build on skills from Level 2 science such as communication, analytical, evaluative and research skills.
It is purely assignment and coursework based, where you will be taught theory sessions and then given an assignment to complete based on the work. This would suit you if you are looking for a course that will develop your organisational abilities and enjoy researching and completing written tasks. You will also take part in science project work to develop key science skills.

Students will be expected to take part in Work placement on this course. We cannot guarantee that this will not be outside their normal working week or placed in a holiday period. Students need to notify college as soon as possible if they have holidays booked at any time during the year, so we make sure we coordinate placements.

The course is over three days per week which gives you two days to do experience if you choose as well as work on assignments. Course enrichment activities include:
•Science related trips
•Speakers from universities
