About the Course
This course is designed to introduce you to the horticulture and gardening industry. The course is mostly practical, where you will learn hands on skills such as how to prune shrubs, bushes and trees and how to prepare the ground for planting. You'll also spend a small amount of time in the classroom learning the theory behind the practical work you have done.
Course enrichment activities include visits to local parks, gardens and garden centres. Once each term there is some experience of work with practical assessments at local parks.
Staff and Facilities
You will learn from staff with a range of horticulture qualifications and backgrounds and have the opportunity to work with local employers or voluntary organisations in the area. The excellent facilities include the latest industry standard workshops, fully automated glasshouses, horticultural equipment and machinery.
