You will cover topics like anatomy, sport psychology, fitness testing, sports leadership and coaching for performance. Throughout the course you will be involved in both theoretical and practical work.
You will explore sports development and become involved in community sports and organise events such as coaching sessions for school children. Projects and assignments are designed so that you find out what it is really like to work in the industry.
Through links with employers and the local community you will be given the opportunity to enhance your skills, knowledge and experience in a variety of sports based contexts

Students from this course have gone on to university to study sports coaching, sports science, sport psychology, sport journalism, fitness and wellbeing, PE teaching, sports therapy and leisure management, sport development as well as employment in the sports and leisure industries. Students have also gone on to study non-sport related courses, which we would be happy to discuss with you.
