Overview
Psychology is ‘the scientific study of behaviour and mind in humans and animals’. This course is designed to introduce students to various branches of psychology including:
- Cognitive
- Developmental
- Physiological
- Social
- Psychopathology

This course consists of the following: Three two hour examinations at the end of the two years, each paper has an equal weighting
• Paper 1: Social influences, Attachment, Memory and Psychopathology
• Paper 2: Approaches, Biopsychology and Research methods
• Paper 3: Issues, Debates, Gender, Forensics and Schizophrenia
How will it be delivered?
A Level examination papers consist of: multiple choice, short answer and extended writing - 16 mark essays.
Entry requirements
GCSE grade 5 in Psychology if taken, 5 in English Language and 5 in Science (5 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or 5 and 5 in the combined Award Science)
