You will immerse yourself in the culture and traditions of other countries, opening your eyes to opportunities beyond South Yorkshire. You will develop skills such as confidence, spontaneity, adaptability, resourcefulness and tenacity. You will also learn to embrace challenge! You will better understand not only words, but people, appreciating how identity affects behaviours, developing mutual respect.
In short, the ability to speak and understand other languages will open up a whole new world to you.

In addition, In the first year , students will spend one week working in a French primary school near Paris. They will work 4 days supervising pupils and 1 day following their French peers in the upper secondary school. In the second year of the course students will spend one week working for a French company: work experience.
This year, our Y13 students will be working at Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris with Air France
Assessment is by examination. There are 3 examinations at the end of Y13:
Paper 1 � listening, reading and writing.
Paper 2: essay paper (film and novel)
Paper 3: speaking examination (independent research project)
Minimum grade 6 (ideally a 7) in GCSE French
