Study Programme - Football/Sport Level 3


Star Strikers FCA are working in partnership with SCL Education Group to deliver 2 year full time education and football development programme open to footballers aged 16 - 18.  Starstrikers will give its learners an introduction to the footballing sector and provide you the skills and knowledge to secure a career in one of the many different roles available including: teaching, exercise and fitness and coaching.

This is achievable through


- Daily training from highly qualified FA coaches.


- Learning delivered by outstanding teachers.


- Guidance on individual football fitness and nutritional advice.


- Recognised qualifications.


- Regular appraisal to monitor development both on and off the pitch.


*Star Strikers FCA work with Premiership, Championship, League One, League Two and none league Football Clubs, for example Manchester City, Crystal Palace, West Ham, DC United, Doncaster Rovers, Rotherham United and our local clubs Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.

The course starts September 2019.




You will gain BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sport . Where required students will study maths and/or English GCSE or Functional Skills.

You will spend time developing your sporting and academic performance at the Star Strikers FCA Academy, located in Hillsborough, plus you will spend some of your time playing football against other teams.

Talent Identification and Sports Development through assessments

Exercise, Health and Lifestyle

How will it be delivered?

All units will be internally assessed with a Diploma specification and based on the achievement of specific learning outcomes.

The diploma qualification will have a unit grade at a Pass Merit  Distinction and Distinction*

Entry requirements


Must have, or expect to achieve, 3 GCSEs at grade 4 or above which should preferably include at least one GCSE at 4 or above in maths or English. Must be aged 16 - 18, be keen to train as a footballer and be interested in a career
