Do you have an interest in finance? Enjoy working with numbers? This apprenticeship is ideal for anyone looking to develop their accounting skills.


You will study:

Employment, Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) Booklet

Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths

Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) You will study all of the mandatory units listed below Mandatory Units

Management Accounting:   Costing methods, allocation of costs and decision making in the short and long term

Advanced Bookkeeping  Accounting concepts and principles. ?Bookkeeping to final adjusted trial balance stage

Final Accounts Preparation  Restructuring financial information from incomplete records and preparing financial statements for sole traders and partnerships

Spreadsheets for Accoutning  Using Excel software to present financial information

Indirect Tax  Aspects of VAT and how to prepare a VAT return ?Ethics for Accountants  Investigating the responsibilities of an accountant and the expectations of conforming to current legislation

How will it be delivered?

Assessment is through computer based examinations throughout the course as well as a synoptic assessment at the end, assessing the knowledge and understanding of the whole qualification.

Entry requirements

Learners will need to be at least 16 years of age and must have completed a Level 2 Accounting Apprenticeship and hold four GCSEs at grade A*-C, plus GCSE English and maths at Grade C/4 or above.

You need to be employed within an accounting role or have an employer in this area willing to take you on as an apprentice.
