Overview

Working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering, you will be given the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised qualifications, whilst gaining practical skills within the work place.

You will also work towards your qualification(s) whilst attending college one day per week for theory and practical workshops.

You will study a range of topics including:
  • Domestic Hot and Cold Water Systems
  • Domestic Central Heating Systems
  • Domestic Sanitation Systems
  • Electrical Work for Plumbing and Heating
  • Core Gas Safety Principles
  • Install Domestic Gas Water Heaters and Wet Central Heating Appliances
  • Maintain Gas Water Heaters and Wet Central Heating Appliances
The apprenticeship will consist of one of the following qualifications:
  • EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing and Heating

How will it be delivered?

Your course assessments may include:
  • Portfolio Assessment, incorporating Gas Safe® registration, competency test and work log review, which includes an interview. This will be marked by technical experts usually sourced from the apprentice’s employer
  • Knowledge Assessment
