Overview

Social issues and trends in French society

Students will study aspects of French-speaking society and will gain an understanding of current trends in France and francophone countries such as the changing nature of family and the impact of technology in everyday life.

Political and artistic culture

Students will study the Artistic culture in the French-speaking world. They will gain knowledge of French-speaking music and cinema alongside an appreciation of the importance of French heritage.

Students will study the benefits of living in an ethnically diverse French-speaking society. They will consider the need to promote diversity to create a richer world and discuss some political issues concerning immigration in francophone countries.

Grammar

Students will continue to study French grammar to give them the confidence to manipulate the language to speak and write French fluently.

All sections of the course are assessed by examination as outlined below.

Paper 1- Listening, reading and writing (40%)

Paper 2- Writing (30%)

Paper 3- Speaking (30%)
