This programme can provide you with the opportunity to explore health and social care in its broadest context and aims to develop independent learners who are able to successfully progress in to health and social care related professions.

The qualification has been designed to introduce you to the health and social care sector. You will investigate health, wellbeing and social care and consider how the society we live in influences our behavior and approach to wellbeing.

These qualifications cover a wide range of key subject areas in health and social care. The Level 1 certificate, allows learners to decide on whether a career in health and social care is right for them and then progress onto Level 2 courses in the field.

Working in Health and Social care

GCSE English

How will it be delivered?

You will be continually assessed on this programme through a wide variety of course work, which may take several forms e.g. an essay, a report, a presentation, and/or group work. Although there is no formal end examination, you will need to complete and achieve a minimum of a pass grade for all your assignment work to be awarded the CACHE Level 1 Certificate in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings.

Entry requirements

  • Three GCSEs at grade 2 including English
  • You will also require a good reference from school
  • Students will normally take part in an interview prior to being enrolled on the programme.
