For the Media Studies CTEC you will study how media texts are put together to create meaning for audiences.  You will be studying how media texts are targeted at different audiences across different platforms. The course is all based on production assessments.

You be producing two forms print media during the year, each of which you will be assessed on.

You will produce a print advertising campaign for a new product of your choice ? examples in the past have been energy drinks, perfumes, make-up, football boots, etc. You will produce all relevant planning and research tasks as well as undertake original photography.

You will also produce the front cover and article for a new magazine of your choice. Popular choices include music, fashion or sports, however the choice is up to you. You will, again produce all relevant planning and research tasks as well as undertaking original photography.

You will learn how to use DSLR cameras and Adobe Photoshop CS5.5 to produce your coursework. You do not need to purchase this hardware/software.

Study Visits

It is highly likely you will visit the Showroom Cinema to watch a film that will help you complete your Production portfolio.

How will it be delivered?

The course is all assessment by Production coursework, there are no exams.
