You will learn about safety in the workshop, the tools and specialist equipment and how to carry out basic checks and repairs on the vehicles.

You will need to bring your own overalls and safety boots for workshop sessions. All other safety equipment will be provided. The course is approximately 50% theory and 50% practical.

Functional Skills lessons also form an important part of your course.

They include English and maths and you will attend lessons to help improve your skills in these areas. There will be formal assessments when you are ready.

You need to attend regularly and be on time for every lesson. Your progress will be reviewed regularly in tutorial sessions
