During the course you will learn about the structure of the UK travel and tourism industry and relevant job opportunities in the sector. You will develop customer service skills and learn how to deal with challenging situations. You will explore coastal resorts in the UK and what attracts tourists to these areas.

You will investigate the growth area of events in the UK. You will study the influence of events to the economy and learn about various events from sports to corporate events within the UK.

You will learn about various visitor attractions within the local area and UK wide. These may be natural, cultural and built for purpose. You will study financial implications and consider visitor numbers.  

Although much of the course is classroom-based, we maximise opportunities to learn outside the classroom whenever possible. You will be expected to work independently to produce coursework which is portfolio based.

There is a residential which students will undertake. It will be two nights and three days in North Wales and the approximate cost is £150

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language and Maths.
