Course Summary
Physics gives you the opportunity to investigate and understand some of the fundamental laws of the universe, ranging from the tiniest particles of matter to vast star systems.
A Level Physics involves hands on practical work, which allows you to apply theoretical concepts to real world situations. This practical aspect helps you develop skills in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific investigation. These skills are not only useful for future scientific research but also transferable to other fields.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
Examination and practical endorsement.
3 exams at the end of the second year.
- Periodic Motion - 2 hours
- Thermal Physics - 2 hours
- Astrophysics and Practical Skills and Data Analysis - 1 hour 30 minutes
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs to include grade 6 in Maths and 2 Science subjects and at least a 4 in English and one other subject
