Course Summary

By choosing us as one of your options we will work with you and your school to provide clear information, advice and guidance on how to get an apprenticeship, as well as support for applications such as CV writing and interview skills.

Opportunity Sheffield works with Sheffield City Council as well as other businesses in Sheffield to create and recruit to, apprenticeship roles. These include business admin/customer service, construction trade, housing, digital and education apprenticeships. These roles are advertised on the government’s Find An Apprenticeship website. This is one of the best places to find apprenticeship vacancies and apply for them.

If you want to do an apprenticeship after your GCSEs it is very important that you search and apply for widely advertised apprenticeship vacancies. If you only use Sheffield Progress you will not get an apprenticeship role, as Sheffield Progress only deals with the qualification and not the employment aspect of an apprenticeship.

Another route is via traineeships. See our Traineeship offer.

Entry requirements

GCSE Level 4 in Maths and English is ideal. However some employers may accept slightly lower grades and other employers will want higher grades. Your best option is to do the best you possibly can in Maths and English. So really apply yourself in these subject areas.
