Course Summary
By choosing us as one of your options we will work with you and your school to provide clear information, advice and guidance on traineeships and how they can lead to an apprenticeship, as well as support for applications such as CV writing and interview skills.
A traineeship is a pre-apprenticeship programme that can make a huge difference to your chances of getting an apprenticeship.
Traineeships involve a small amount of classroom/online based learning that covers CV writing/application form writing, employability skills and interview skills etc as well as Maths and English. This is then followed up with at least 70 hours of job specific work experience. You are guaranteed an interview for an apprenticeship role, but it is not guaranteed you will get the job.
They can last from 6 weeks to 6 months and are unpaid, but most people who successfully complete a traineeship end up moving on to an apprenticeship or relevant study.
Sheffield City Council and increasingly other employers will start using traineeships as a way to recruit to their apprenticeship vacancies.
