Course Summary

GCSE English Language is an essential qualification needed to access higher education and employment.

Course Details

Within GCSE English Language, you will investigate and analyse language, considering how writers use language to create specific effects. You will develop your own writing skills, exploring how to use language imaginatively, and how to adapt your written and spoken language for different situations and audiences. You will develop your speaking and listening skills by applying them in a range of situations, learning about how to discuss and present effectively.

This course will not only provide you with the learning that you need to attain a GCSE in English Language, but the skills can be applied to your other subjects making you a far more effective and successful learner.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

This course will be assessed by 100% examination assessment, with a further assessment of speaking and listening activities which will be recorded on your certificate but will not contribute to your final grade.

Entry requirements

Standard TRC Level 2 entry requirements. GCSE English Language grade 3.
