What is Further Maths?

Further Mathematics is an additional A-level taken alongside A-level Mathematics. It extends and deepens mathematical knowledge.

Why Study Further Maths?

It offers a chance to explore advanced mathematical concepts and introduces new areas beyond the standard A-level Maths curriculum.

Our further maths course includes A level maths and you will graduate with 2 qualifactions from this selection (Mathematics and Further Mathematics).

Course Details

This counts as an extra A-Level, and is strongly recommended for anyone wanting to study Maths, Physics or Engineering at a leading UK university. There is a different structure with 4 modules to be studied. There are 2 compulsory modules which extend your knowledge of pure mathematics, and 2 optional modules. The optional modules will be selected each year to match the strengths of the students, we select from Further Pure, Further Statistics, Further Mechanics, and Decision mathematics.

Entry requirements

Normal college entry requirements (5 grade 4s or above, including English Language and mathematics) plus Grade 7 or above in GCSE Maths.
