This course offers a comprehensive introduction to life in the military, including:

Course Structure:
Duration: The course typically runs for 1 academic year.
Qualifications: Upon successful completion, you will earn a Level 2 Award in Preparation for Military Service, recognised across the military and uniformed services.
Opportunities: Students will also have the opportunity to retake GCSE Maths and English, or complete Functional Skills in these areas, ensuring you're prepared academically as well as physically.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Students are assessed through a combination of practical and theoretical methods, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed.
Fitness Assessments: Students undergo regular physical assessments, such as the MSFT, strength and endurance tests, and obstacle courses, to track progress and readiness for military fitness standards.
Practical Demonstrations: Students are assessed on their ability to perform military drills, teamwork exercises, and leadership tasks. Evaluations based on real-world scenarios that test decision-making, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Written Assignments: Students may be required to complete written work on subjects like military history, health and fitness, or leadership theories.
Portfolio of Evidence: Students compile a portfolio showcasing their progress, achievements, and skills development throughout the course. This may include a combination of practical task records, written work, and personal reflections.
Ongoing Tutor Feedback: Students receive regular feedback from tutors to help them improve both their academic and practical skills. One-on-one sessions are held to ensure each student’s personal development is on track.
