Course Summary

Our Level 2 Hairdressing course is a great introduction to the hairdressing industry.

At Learning Curve Group we do not disadvantage learners, so our only entry requirement is a genuine interest in the Hairdressing Industry, GCSE grades will not impact on you being able to join us.

Attendance is 2 days per week, plus additional days if Maths and English are required (if achieved less than 4 in either). A work placement is also required to gain valuable experience to support your learning.

Progression is performance based, with the option to study Level 3 Hairdressing or an alternative Level 2 Qualification in the second year.

Course fees are fully funded for 16 – 18 year olds (if aged under 19 before 31st August).

Personal costs include:

o Uniform (2 x T-shirts)

o Hairdressing Kit - £116.50

These payments are made via order links which will be shared at enrolment. You can spread costs if you select Klarna (3 months) or PayPal Credit (4 months) as your payment method.

A Learning Curve financial bursary is available which may cover the above costs plus travel and lunch. The eligibility criteria includes:

o A learner, Parent or Guardian in receipt of recognised benefits

o A household income under £42,000 per year

o A learner currently in care, a care leaver or receiving DLA

Please note that we cannot guarantee financial support, however, our Student Services Team will support with the application process.


Course Details

The Level 2 Hairdressing study programme for under 19’s includes:

• Advise and consult with clients

• Shampoo, Condition and Treat hair

• Colour and Lighten hair

• Style and finish hair

• Set and dress the hair

• Basic cutting techniques

• Perm and neutralise hair

o Exams

Entry requirements

A genuine interest in the industry, with a clear career goal and focus.

Acceptance is not based on GCSE grades, however Maths and English maybe added to your timetable if you do not achieve a 4 or above.
