Course Summary
The T Level Foundation Year is a 16-18 study programme specifically designed to develop the skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression onto a T Level.
It is a one-year programme aimed at young people who are not quite ready to start a T Level but have the potential to progress onto one.
Course Details
There are 5 elements to the T Level foundation programme:
- Diagnostic and Guidance Section
This is to help us assess the capability and support needs to tailor the individual support for the Foundation Year and help you progress onto the T Level programme.
- English and Maths
If you have not achieved a GCSE English and Maths at a grade 4 you will have general and tailored sessions to help you achieve the required level.
- Work Preparation and Employability Skills
To support you in developing the skills, behaviours, attitude, and confidence that will be needed for students to complete the T Level Industry Placement.
- Introductory Technical Skills
These are the core skills and concepts that you will need in order to prepare for the next level
- Pastoral Support and Personal Development
This supports you to become a well-rounded individual as well as support the development of study skills, reflective and resilience skills.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Candidates are required to complete a number of tasks and/or tests to show their attainment of practical skills and underpinning knowledge.
The Summative assessments for the qualification require candidates to undertake:
- Practical observations
- Knowledge and understanding written questions and assignments
- Build a portfolio of evidence
