Level 3 Applied Law (1 A Level Equivalent)

Equivalent to 1 A level

You will find out about the English legal system and how law influences our daily lives. Assignments are designed to give you a real sense of what it is like to work in the legal professions and visits to courts in session and discussions with guest speakers will be part of the course. The skills you will develop on the course, such as being able to see both sides of an argument, effective research skills and solving complex legal problems will be of value to you in other areas of life.

You will cover themes such as:

• General Elements of Liability
• Fatal Offences Against the Person
• Property Offences
• Defences
• The Rules of Tort Law
• Police Powers

A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.

2 exam units with a pre seen case study.

2 assignment based units.

5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) at grade 4 or above.
