Course Summary

The T Level Technical Qualification in Maintenance, Installation and Repair for Engineering and Manufacturing allows learners to gain an understanding of what is needed to work within the engineering industry.

Topics covered include:

  • health and safety
  • engineering business
  • maths
  • maintenance
  • installation and repair requirements
  • fault detection and diagnosis
  • isolation and resolution methods and communication for maintenance
  • installation and repair activities
  • The first year is a mix of 17 core, theory units that will cover a range of electrical and mechanical disciplines.

    This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to work in the engineering and manufacturing industry.

    Course Details

    Year one is a mix of 17 core units with two externally set exams It is a mandatory component required for completion of the T-Level and includes the following subjects:

  • Health and Safety
  • Level 3 Engineering Maths
  • Electrical and Mechanical Principles
  • Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Engineering Science
  • Engineering Materials
  • Quality in Engineering/Continuous Improvement
  • Working in an engineering environment
  • How will it be delivered and assessed?

    Year 1 – 2 x End of year exams (2.5 hours each)

    Year 2 – Employer set project

    A 45 day (minimum) industry placement (we will support you with securing this).
