Course Summary

Music Level 3- Course Overview This is a popular music course covering a variety of genres from 1950 to the present day. You have the opportunity to study across a variety of musical disciplines and develop practical skills in performance, composition, sequencing, recording and improvisation. Key Units - Principles of Music Performance and Production, Critical Listening and Music Composition, Music Industry and Professional Practice, Music Production/Performance in Context, Collaborative Music Performance Project, Extended Project in Music Performance and Production. .

Music Technology Level 3 - Course Overview You will study a range of related subject areas designed to develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the music industry. These include music listening skills, music software, composing and performance using music technology, studio recording, synthesis, sampling, acoustics, live sound engineering, sound design for film and TV, music video production and events management. Key Units - Principles of Music Performance and Production Critical Listening and Music Composition Music Industry and Professional Practice Music Production and Performance in Context Collaborative Music Performance Project Extended Project in Music Performance and Production.

Music Level 2 - Course Overview. You will have the opportunity to work with different musicians across a variety of musical styles and will develop your skills and creativity through live performances at a variety of performance venues across the city. Key Units - Introduction to Music Performance, Introduction to Music Production, Exploring Music Composition, Contextual Research for Music Performance and Production, Music Performance and Production Project.

Music Level 2 - The course is assessed through coursework therefore students need to have good time management skills and be able to work to deadlines. Coursework includes practical group and solo performances, presentations and written assignments
