Course Summary
A Level Photography is taught at UTC Sheffield City Centre Campus but can be picked alongside ONE of the Technical Specialism Subjects on offer across both UTCs.
You will specialise in learning DSLR and dark room skills to create a portfolio of work using briefs inspired by local photographers and contexts.
Course Details
You will learn digital editing skills using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom in order to manipulate images to a professional standard.
You will use high-end camera and lighting equipment in a studio setting.
You will also use analogue photography and learn how to develop your photographs in our dark room.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed at the end of two years by portfolio and examination.
AO1 Develop ideas through sustained and focused investigations informed by contextual and other sources, demonstrating analytical and critical understanding.
AO2 Explore and select appropriate resources, media, materials, techniques and processes, reviewing and refining ideas as work develops.
AO3 Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting critically on work and progress.
AO4 Present a personal and meaningful response that realises intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.
Entry requirements
Entry requirements: At least a Grade 4-5 (or equivalent) in Art, Photography or Media if taken, at GCSE.
