Sociology A Level

Over the two years the following topics are examined:

• Families and Households

• Education

• Sociological Theory and Research Methods

• Belief Systems

• Crime and Deviance

Three, two-hour examinations at the end of the second year of study.

At least a grade 5 in English Language

Sociology is a useful A level to have if you are looking at working/studying in the following areas: teaching and teaching assistant, social work and youth work, nursing, health care assistants and public health, policing and public services, politics, social policy and planning, law and legal professions, culture, heritage and anthropological studies, business and human resources and media, advertising and marketing.
