Course Summary

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t studied Drama before. You may have an interest in theatre and have been involved in extra curricular drama activities both in and out of school. You may want an opportunity to develop and express your own ideas. You may want to pursue a career in drama and theatre.

Course Details

In this subject we study:

• Two plays whereby your understanding of the production will be tested in a written exam

• Three plays that you will explore practically and perform to a live audience

• At least one drama practitioner

• A variety of live performances

• How to work as a director, performer and designer.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

40% Written exam

30% Devised (20% written documentation and 10% performance, internally marked/externally moderated)

30% Performance (20% performance and 10% written notes, externally examined)


Entry requirements

Grade 5 in Drama, English Literature or Language.
