UAL Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design

Level 2 Art and Design allows students to develop a variety of skills including, drawing, painting, illustration, photography, animation and a wide a variety of other arts.

You will complete projects which allow you to explore your own ideas using a range of techniques.

There are 6 units in total, including the Final Major Project, which is an extended independent project at the end of the academic year.

A number of specifications will be changing and prospectus entries are based on information we have to date. This means that course content may be subject to change.

A variety of assessment methods are used to evaluate project strengths including verbal and written formative assessment, peer assessment in the form of class critiques and assessment against specific project briefs. Throughout the year students will develop a portfolio of work and will also complete a final project. There are no exams on this course.

At least 2 GCSEs at grade 3 or above

Level 2 Art and Design is an excellent preparation for Level 3 study. Many students progress to either the UAL Level 3 course in Art and Design or Level 3 Games Art and Design. Some students also go on to study A Levels in creative subjects such as Fine Art, 3D Design and Photography.
