About us

Barnsley College is the most successful general further education college in the region offering a range of vocational, A Levels, apprenticeship, technical (T Levels), part-time and Higher Education pathways. With courses ranging from Catering and Hospitality to Beauty Therapy; Business and Management to Construction; and Engineering to Music, there is something for everyone.

We offer courses from entry level to university level, along with fun enrichment and enterprise activities that will help you to enhance your CV. The level at which you enter your course depends on your GCSE results and other qualifications you may have. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible, however, we continue to accept applications up to August each year.

Our aim is to ensure you make the best of your time at College and provide you with the knowledge, skills and experience that will help you to progress to the next stage in your career, whether that's university, an apprenticeship or employment.

"I really enjoyed my apprenticeship and my time at Barnsley College. I won a number of national bricklaying competitions including the Guild of Bricklayers and the national final of SkillBuild. My tutors were fantastic and provided me with the confidence, guidance and support to get me to the competitions.
