King Ecgbert is the flagship school and founder of the Mercia Learning Trust, the most successful city based Multi Academy Trust in Sheffield. The school has gone beyond outstanding in every sense and we measure ourselves against World Class schools across the country.
The progress and outcomes of our cohort is continuously outstanding putting us in or around the top 10% of all schools nationally. This year 67% of A level grades were A*-B, resulting in a 3 year average of 62% with the average grade = B. 67% of BTEC grades were D*-D with the average grade a distinction, results we are so proud of. An unbelievable 26% that's over a quarter of our students that achieved all A's/distinction or abo 34% of our students achieved AAB or higher in 2 or more facilitating subjects.
We are a system leading school and through outstanding outcomes and student experiences we were the first school in the region to be awarded the prestigious World Class Schools Quality mark. The application for this award, only open to the best schools with ofsted outstanding grades already, was completed by our students who then went to Cambridge University to be presented with the award alongside an elite group of other World Class Schools.
