The Source Skills Academy
Information, Advice and Guidance
If you’re thinking about applying for an apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship programme or want to discuss your career options, we have a dedicated team to support you with information, advice and guidance (IAG). The team at The Source can also support you with applications for vacancies, interview and CV tips/preparation and guidance through skills revision and tests.
Our IAG sessions run on a weekly basis and are designed to clearly explain the progression routes available to you, to provide an opportunity to talk through your career goals and to meet the team.
During the session, you will be able to access the following support:
- An overview of all programmes on offer at The Source.
- An overview of the entry requirements and eligibility for available programmes.
- A one-to-one chat with a learner engagement advisor.
- An assessment of maths and English to determine the skills that you already have.
When joining us for an IAG session you will receive impartial advice, which may result in recommendations to pursue alternative progression routes and providers if we feel that is the best option for you. We will also provide information on where you can find additional support if you need specialist guidance that we are unable to provide.
What makes us different?
Since opening in 2003, over 7,000 people have completed work-based learning qualifications with The Source. We offer a wide range of Apprenticeships qualifications for people who would like to move into employment and who are not currently at school, college or sixth form. Apprenticeships are also available for people who are currently in employment and would like to up-skill their job to an apprenticeship qualification. We also have other training courses such as traineeships and the 'steps to work' programme, that can help people to get the skills they need to help them find a job.
Apprenticeships are a great way to gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst you work, helping you improve your skills, knowledge and confidence and giving you all you need for your future. Apprenticeship vacancies are full time and allow you to get paid whilst studying for your qualification. Our team of Tutors visit you and your employer at work to support you through the qualification and you may spend some time at The Source too.
We offer Apprenticeships at Level 2, 3 and 4 in the following subject areas:
- Business and Administration
- Customer Service
