Course Summary

Work-based animal care is a work-related, competence-based qualification. It reflects the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively and shows that a learner is competent in the area of work the qualification represents.

The college houses animals� on-site as well as providing internal work-experience.

Assessor observations

Learner photographic evidence and reflective journals

Learning Units

Maintain and develop personal performance

Promote and maintain the health and wellbeing of animals

Deliver basic treatments to animals

Maintain animal accommodation

Make sure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

Maintain the cleanliness and bio security of the animal care working environment
