Course Details
Art & Design Level 1
This exciting one-year study programme offers an opportunity for you to explore several creative disciplines; you will develop skills in a range of Art & Design areas. These skills will allow you to develop a portfolio and aid your progression to one of our higher-level courses.
Art & Design Level 2
This course introduces you to the dynamic area of art and design, building on the knowledge and skills acquired at Level 1.
Fine Art Level 3
The programme is designed to help you to discover and develop your talents, interests and strengths in a wide range of specialist disciplines including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, applied arts, ceramics, visual communication, illustration and animation.
3D Design Level 3
This course focuses on the practical development and application of knowledge and skills required by anyone wishing to pursue a career in architecture, interior design or product design. The programme is designed to help you to discover and develop your talents, interests and strengths within the spectrum of 3-dimensional design.
Graphic Design and Digital Illustration Level 3 -
This UAL Extended Diploma in Graphic Design and Digital Illustration is an exciting programme, designed to give you an understanding of the creative industries and their products. You'll study graphic design and digital illustration, familiarising yourself with industry standard software such as Photoshop and Illustrator as you go, so that you're ready for employment or further study on completion.
T Level Textile and Fashion Maker
During this 2-year programme, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of craft and design occupations. Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including, the creative economy, the individual in the creative industries, cultural context and vocabulary, audience and consumer needs, and much more.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Art & Design Level 1
Each student will receive continual assessment but will also be graded on each project and a pass must be achieved to continue to the next stage.
Art & Design Level 2
Each student will receive continual assessment but will also be graded on each project and a pass must be achieved to continue to the next stage.
Fine Art Level 3
Modular assessment for each unit completed throughout the course - this is usually based on coursework and project work.
3D Design Level 3
Continual assessment of coursework including practical, theoretical and written project work. You must successfully pass each unit to progress and achieve the full extended diploma.
Graphic Design and Digital Illustration Level 3
The course is assessed entirely by coursework. You therefore need to have good time management skills and be able to work to targets and deadlines.
T Level Textile and Fashion Maker
80% of the course is classroom-based learning and 20% is a work placement with an employer in the fashion and textiles industry.
At the end of each course, students will undertake a final project which concludes in a final grade and their work exhibited in an end of year show.
Entry requirements
Art & Design Level 1
3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above.
Art & Design Level 2
4 GCSEs grades at grade 3 or above (or acceptable alternatives); including English Language and an art-related subject or portfolio of artwork.
Fine Art Level 3
5 GCSEs grades at grade 4 or above (or acceptable alternatives), including English Language and an art-related subject or portfolio of artwork.
3D Design Level 3
5 GCSEs grades at grade 4 or above (or acceptable alternatives), including English Language and an art or textiles-related subject, or portfolio of artwork.
Graphic Design and Digital Illustration Level 3
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and an art related subject
T Level Textile and Fashion Maker
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language, Maths and an art or textiles-related subject, or portfolio of artwork.
