Course Summary
The course covers many areas of mathematics and enables the students to acquire knowledge and skills with confidence, satisfaction and enjoyment. This involves studying pure mathematics as a continuation and development of GCSE work, developing skills to model mathematics to real-life situations in Mechanics, Probability and Statistics and learning about the use of mathematics in problem solving.
Here at All Saints we involve our Sixth Form Mathematics’ students in the UKMT Mathematics Challenges.

Course Content
Pure Mathematics - focusing on Trigonometry, Calculus, Algebra and Geometry
Mechanics and Statistics - for applying the knowledge from the pure mathematics topics into real world situations.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Mathematics A Level
Paper 1: Pure mathematics 2 hours
Paper 2: Pure mathematics 2 hours
Paper 3: Statistics and Mechanics 2 hours
Calculators are expected to be used in all examination papers.
