Course Details
A Level Physics supports the ability to logically solve complex problems, conduct lab research, use mathematical models and communicate ideas in scientific reports. These skills and ways of thinking are in demand in many, often well-paid, industries – like finance and law. Physics combines practical skills with theoretical ideas to develop descriptions of the physical universe. Scholars will learn about everything from kinematics to cosmology and many recent developments in fascinating topics, such as particle physics. If you are interested in the limits of space, the beginning of time and everything in between this is the subject for you. Physics is more than a subject – it trains your brain to think beyond boundaries.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Exam Board: AQA
A Level Physics delves deep into an array of fascinating subjects. These include • Particles and Radiation • Electromagnetic Radiation and Quantum Phenomena • Waves • Mechanics • Materials • Electricity • Thermal Physics • Gravitational and Electric Fields • Capacitators • Magnetic Fields • Nuclear Physics • Revolutionary Discoveries in Physics
The course is assessed through three written exams. These assess all areas of the course and consist of short and long answer questions, multiple choice, comprehension questions, and critical analysis.
