Course Details
In A Level Psychology, scholars study the origins of Psychology and progress to debate and discuss the psychology of relationships, gender and cognition and development.
As with all subjects, teachers will use their understanding of the specification to guide pupils explicitly throughout the course. Teachers will lead lessons in the form of seminars and lectures, as well as controlled research activities and facilitated discussion. Scholars will be challenged to analyse and evaluate conflicting theories presented by psychologists, whilst learning about the scientific research processes required to develop such theories. The study of the mind presents many ethical issues and scholars will be encouraged to engage with in depth class discussions, as well as thinking about how our leaders and wider society should respond.
